Bazalgette dreaming of shot at big time

HARTPURY playmaker Harry Bazalgette believes he’s put himself in the shop window for Premiership outfits as he aims to follow in his fore fathers’ footsteps and make the grade at the highest level.

Rugby is “a family business” for the fly-half, with both his grandfather Richard and great uncle John donning the famous quarters of Harlequins during the late 1950s and early 60s.

The 25-year-old’s shown he’s full of motivation and ambition, recovering from two serious leg injuries last season to battle for the top of the Championship’s points standings.

Bazalgette told The Rugby Paper: “I’ve always been a Harlequins fans through my grandfather and his brother, and that remains the childhood dream, but just getting a chance in the top flight would be a dream.

“I’m really happy playing at Hartpury, I’m in a good place and enjoying my rugby more than I have in a long time.

“I’m not actively seeking to move, if I was to stay at Hartpury and play 100 games then I’d be absolutely buzzing.
