TOMMY Widdrington's FA Cup history-makers had to grind out a narrow, nervy victory which cemented their place in the play-offs but for Kidderminster it was a familiar tale of deserved rewards laying tantalisingly out of reach.
Dreams of a repeat of last weekend's thrashing of Swindon were briefly rekindled in the hosts' thrilling start but thereafter they were left to hang on as Har riers failed to take several chances which would have earned a valuable point.
Josh Stokes, 19, was again the catalyst for a vibrant, domineering opening period for the Shots, and his 23rd-minute goal appeared to herald the opening of the floodgates. Yet ultimately it made the slender difference as Widdrington hailed a first home clean sheet of the season.
