SIJU'S IN SITU WITH U'S REDEMPTION
The Non-League Football Paper
|June 09, 2024
SIJU Odelusi always maintained the belief that he would one day play full-time football - and now he's been rewarded with a move to National League newboys Sutton United.

The 25-year-old midfielder starred for Aveley in National League South last term, netting 17 goals, including 12 penalties, as the Millers rose to their new challenge following promotion from the Isthmian Premier.
Odelusi's all-action style caught the eye in his two seasons with Aveley and was the latest stage of his lengthy journey to full-time football. Having been on West Ham's books in his mid-teens, he took the Non-League route via Tilbury, Witham Town, Leiston, Hayes & Yeading United, Northwood and Westfield.
Some might have given up on their dream, but Odelusi refused to throw in the towel.
"You know what, not to sound cocky, but I always knew I would somehow make it into full-time football," he told The NLP.
"I know my ability and how good I can be - you have to know yourself and your capabilities.
