CARL Dickinson says he has had a long-running admiration for the vociferous, yet long-suffering, Bury FC fans - and he can't wait to get the famous Gigg Lane roar on his side
The 36-year-old has previously led out the likes of Port Vale, Portsmouth and Yeovil Town at the spiritual home of the Shakers, but will now get to don the famous white shirt himself in this, the most momentous season in the club's turbulent history.
Members of the supporter-run Bury AFC announced earlier this month that they had agreed to merge with their counterparts at the original Bury FC, with the club returning home to their proud Gigg Lane home.
Manager Andy Welsh has been busy strengthening the Shakers for a shot at glory in the North West Counties Premier Division and has called on his former managerial adversary Dickinson to help lead the charge.
