BE PROG! MY FRIEND READIES THEATRICS AND SURPRISES FOR THIS YEAR'S BARCELONA WEEKEND

The 2025 edition will feature headline sets from heavy hitters Tesseract and The Pineapple Thief.

After its sold-out comeback last year, Barcelona's intimate showcase, Be Prog! My Friend, is back on September 26-27 with “the best possible lineup”. The festival in Catalonia’s sun-soaked capital was resurrected after a six-year slumber and its reconfigured guise worked a treat.

It's moved to a smaller, but wonderfully quirky, corner of Poble Espanyol, the open-air museum that knots together streets and buildings inspired by a rich history of Spanish culture and architecture. Previous headliners have included Steven Wilson, Jethro Tull, and Steve Hackett and this year's lineup has been carefully curated to showcase a diverse selection of acts from across the prog spectrum.

“Be Prog! reflects my musical tastes,” says chief organiser Juan Antonio Muñoz. “It’s nice to show different kinds of artists.”
