Under the Spotlight

Three brands with Indian roots made the long-list for the sought-after Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) awards this year. We take a look at the watches.

Every watch brand wishes to be nominated for the coveted Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) awards. While it is common to see Swiss, German, and Japanese brands on the shortlist, Indian brands, rather brands with Indian roots, are also strengthening their presence, year on year. In 2025, the longlist featured Nebula by Titan, Bangalore Watch Company (BWC), and Nalla Neram. While it was the first time for Bangalore Watch Company, both Nalla Neram and Titan were longlisted for the second time.

Last year, two Edge by Titan timepieces made it to the longlist for the 2024 GPHG awards—Titan Edge Ultraslim in the ‘Challenge’ category and the Edge Squircle in the ‘Time Only’ category— marking the first time an Indian watchmaker competed in the prestigious event. This year, Nebula by Titan's creation Jalsa was nominated in the longlist.
