Here to Stay

While most luxury watch brands are available online, heading to a retail store to wear and feel a watch before buying it still holds importance among buyers. Aiding this, the year saw a slew of watch boutiques open across the country, with Gurugam and Bengaluru taking the lead. Two brands, H. Moser & Cie. and Ulysse Nardin, opened their first stores in India with Ethos Watches, while others with existing retail presence expanded their footprint by reaching new cities. Here's a roundup of some of the landmark openings...

CITY OF TIME BY ETHOS

Ethos Watch Boutiques, the biggest watch retailer in the country, has opened a sprawling 22,000 sq ft horological haven in Gurugram, featuring multi- and mono-brand boutiques.

There are exclusive outposts of Panerai and Breitling, and India's first-ever standalone stores for H. Moser & Cie. and Ulysse Nardin; Girard-Perregaux, Bell & Ross, and Tudor boutiques are also slated to open soon. At H. Moser & Cie., one can expect to see boutique-exclusive timepieces like the recent Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton Boutique Edition, limited to just 17 pieces globally, while at Ulysse Nardin, its iconic collections and watches, including the Blast, Diver, Freak X, Freak One, and Marine, offer collectors a comprehensive view of the brand's horological expertise.

Aside from these, City of Time also includes Ethos's two multi-brand boutiques, one of which houses over 50 of the world's independent watchmakers like Junghans and Nomos Glashütte, and a Watchmaking Studio where visitors can engage in masterclasses. The other showcases a relaxed ambiance tailored for collectors and seasoned enthusiasts alike, with a Bar & Cigar Lounge, offering handrolled cigars and signature cocktails.
