BOLD AND DISRUPTIVE
WatchTime India
|April - June 2026
The launch of the new Hublot Big Bang Reloaded shows the brand’s commitment to innovation. We spoke to Julien Tornare, CEO, Hublot, on how the new iteration is re-engineered for today.
— If the watch industry were a classroom, Hublot would be the enthusiastic student who always has a hand up—curious, great at extra-curriculars, eager to show off, and not necessarily liked by everyone.
I give this analogy based on what the brand has managed to achieve in a relatively short span of 45 years, when compared to heritage watchmakers. From groundbreaking in-house calibres like the Meca-10 and Unico, to pioneering materials such as high-tech sapphire SAXEM (Sapphire Aluminium oXide and rare Earth Mineral), coloured ceramics, King Gold, and Magic Gold, to partnership with visionaries and celebrities alike, Hublot's universe is vast and continues to grow.
“Hublot shook the industry with the Big Bang in 2005 and claimed mechanical independence in 2010 with the Unico, its first in-house chronograph. Since then, mastery has been at the heart of everything we do at Hublot,” says Julien Tornare, CEO. “It’s important today that we keep innovating, shaking the industry and surprising our clients and watch connoisseurs. This is what we aim to do, trying to push the boundaries of innovation further every time.” Since its inception in 1980, Hublot has stuck to its ‘Art of Fusion’ identity, creating watches that consistently reflect the same spirit. Its cornerstones are built around material innovation, in-house movement calibre development, bold designs, partnerships, and collaborations, ensuring that Hublot is anything but conventional.
