Freezing food can save you money, reduce waste and even be good for you. Also, purchasing frozen foods can be convenient and affordable. Some foods, when frozen, retain more vitamins and minerals than you'd think! But there are some foods that are better to freeze than others, and for different periods of time.

FOOD TO FREEZE

When it comes to vegies, they freeze better if they've been blanched first. Broccoli, carrots, peas, corn and green beans last up to 12 months in the freezer. Cooked leafy greens last around 10 months, while onion and capsicum are good to last eight with no blanching needed.
