'It's playful and quirky - and never boring'

Nicola Daly and Nick Savvides' home is a masterclass in pattern clashing and bold dopamine decor, giving them a year-round holiday vibe

Having always opted for period properties in the past, Nicola Daly and partner Nick Savvides were intrigued after driving past a new-build house on the outskirts of Knutsford while on the school run. 'We wanted something a little more rural that was closer to my daughter Lily's school, and we liked that it was a small community of just four homes,' explains Nicola.

The couple's previous home, a four-storey Victorian townhouse in the heart of Knutsford, was vastly different, with lots of period features such as fireplaces, high ceilings and coving. However, Nicola and Nick fell in love with this light-filled space and liked the idea of a totally blank canvas. 'Everything was white and chrome, so it was a tad cold and clinical, but we loved the open-plan ground floor and the vaulted ceilings in all the bedrooms, which just added wow-factor to them,' says Nicola. 'Each room fills with light so it's a huge sun trap in the summer, and we have incredible country views all around us.'
