This boutique hotel, set in a former ruin, was brought back to life by interior architect Victoria-Maria Geyer, who's imbued it with a quintessential Californian vibe - think fringed chandeliers, red-striped seating and multicolour tiled tables.

BREAKFAST CLUB

Andalusian culture is taken seriously here - starting with the food. Breakfast is served every day, with homemade jam, juices and seed bread on offer. Dinner is on Mondays and Tuesdays, but there are plenty of local restaurants to dine at the rest of the time.

IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

The region of Gaucín has a calendar packed with celebrations, from the traditional Spanish festival Feria de Gaucín in August to an annual flamenco festival and the Marbella Jazz Festival.
