One of the most effective redesign elements was bi-fold pocket doors to integrate the appliance/pantry cupboard. "This created a hideaway' butler's pantry to store the bulky appliances the owners didn't want on display, but needed easy access to," explains the Coco Republic Residential Interior Design Team. Sleek Smeg appliances blend in seamlessly. "Larger appliances like the fridge or dishwasher can easily be concealed by cabinetry, whereas those typically on show, such as ovens, can be chosen tastefully to complement the rest of your design aesthetic," says Smeg Australia's managing director, Wayne Campbell.
