Designers Zoe Maclachlan and Valentina Pennazio proved to be a dream team when it came to giving an Edwardian terrace more space, light and style

HOW DID YOU COME TO BE INVOLVED IN THIS PROJECT?

Zoe: the client is a good friend of mine and asked me to get involved. When I had to take a step back halfway through due to unforeseen circumstances, Valentina stepped in to complete the project.

Valentina: the client gave me a full overview of the project and Zoe's ideas and I was able to move things quickly by sourcing all the products from the mood boards, producing drawings for the builders that were already on site and taking on responsibility for the project management.

WHAT WAS THE BRIEF?

The house needed complete redecoration and the ground floor redesigned. The front hall was narrow and the kitchen layout wasn't working for a family of five with insufficient storage and not enough room between the island and the cabinets. The children's bedrooms needed to be redesigned with better use of space and the husband required a garden room.
