JBT Marel: Providing Innovative Solutions to the Poultry Industry And Animal Feed Sector

On the first day of VIV Select India, we had an opportunity to interact with Mr. Pratik Honshetti, Sales and Business Development Manager, South Asia Continent, JBT Marel.

Pawan Lohani, Senior Sub Editor, Food Infotech Magazine, interacted with him to know more about the company's product portfolio. The interview spanned across the segments, including Poultry, Meat, Dairy, and other sectors of food processing industries, and their association with Marel and Wenger Manufacturing, LLC.

What type of innovations are you currently showcasing for the poultry segment and animal feed segment here at this exhibition?

As you know, JBT has acquired Marel, and since last year, we have been providing complete integrated solutions. From a poultry perspective, if you ask, we have solutions right from the first stage of live bird handling and slaughtering till the end-of-line solutions after value addition or any of the cutups that the customer wants. So, the main strength that JBT Marel brings is end-to-end integrated solutions, which is a plus for any customer.

To add more, we also have one of our U.S. subsidiaries, Wenger, which is into pet food. So, animal feed and pet food are a new category or a new segment where we can work on dry pet food or wet pet food. That is something I can say is new to the market, and people don't know that JBT Marel is in the pet food segment of food. So, that is something new for the market this time around at the JBT Marel booth.

JBT corporation was among the top five companies who is providing the machinery solutions to the food processing industry. It has now merged with Marel. So, it has become JBT Marel overall. So, how are you getting traction after the formation of JBT Marel?
