Festivals in India are a sensory celebration — bright lights, rich food, family gatherings, and that unmistakable air of joy. Yet they also bring an indulgence overload, with mithais, laddoos, and decadent spreads on every table. The question is: can indulgence be made healthier without losing its festive sparkle? According to Ms. Pamela Graviet, Vice President, Integrated Marketing at CWC Global, the answer lies in something as simple — and as versatile — as California walnuts.

WHY CALIFORNIA?

Pamela began by tracing the journey of the nut. "We're like a trade association — we exclusively grow walnuts in California," she said, explaining that the council was formed in the 1980s with a focus on education and research. India has its own walnut production in Jammu & Kashmir, she noted, but the supply isn't enough to meet the demand. "That's where California walnuts step in, known for their mild, buttery flavor thanks to the soil and climate. They really do have their own character."
