It’s the most wonderful time of the year, so BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing is treating fans to not one but two sequinned spectaculars this Yuletide!

As well as the remaining Series 23 contenders and their professional partners taking to the floor one last time in the grand finale on Saturday 20 December, a collection of six new stars, including EastEnders actor Nicholas Bailey, will trip the light fantastic in a sparkling special on Christmas Day.

Why were you keen to sign up for Strictly’s festive edition?

Like the rest of the nation, I’m a real fan of the show. So as soon as my agent told me, I said, ‘Yes!’ I just had this feeling it would be a transformative and hugely positive experience.
