PEAKY BLINDERS: THE IMMORTAL MAN NEW FROM FRIDAY 20 MARCH, NETFLIX DRAMA

Dust off your caps: razor-sharp Tommy Shelby and his crew of mobsters are swaggering back on to our screens in a feature-length Peaky Blinders movie!

Serving as a sequel to the original period drama which ran on BBC2 and then prime-time BBC1 for six seasons between 2013 and 2022, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, written by show creator Steven Knight, lands on Netflix this week and is set to give Birmingham’s most notorious gangster (played by Cillian Murphy) the epic sendoff he deserves.

‘We wanted to make a film that would justify its existence,’ explains Cillian, 49, who won a Best Actor Oscar for his role in 2023 thriller Oppenheimer. ‘We needed a satisfying conclusion for the character, for me and for the fans.’

Set six years on from the events of Series 6, the story opens in 1940 with Tommy holed up in a crumbling mansion and writing his memoirs. Having relinquished control of his family firm, the Shelby empire is now run by his illegitimate firstborn son, Duke (Barry Keoghan) – until a reckless deal with fascist treasurer Beckett (Tin Star’s Tim Roth) drags Tommy back to the city.
