There’s horror for Chloe this week when her baby son, Reuben, becomes seriously ill. But as doctors at Hotten General battle to save the tot, back in the village another drama starts to brew as Mackenzie gets wind of the development. Could this be the moment he finally cracks and tells Charity he’s the daddy?

The saga unfolds as Mack finds it increasingly difficult to stay away from his little boy. He’s vowed to keep his distance; acutely aware that Charity will likely kick him to the kerb if she ever discovers his secret. But he’s no robot, and instinctively dashes to Chloe’s aid when he earlier spots her struggling to manage their baby while lugging some shopping.
