With their exuberant energy, tiny Day-Glo shorts and infectious hit singles hits like Club Tropicana and Last Christmas, few bands captured the joyful pop hedonism of the 1980s like Wham!

Now, the story of their chart success is told in Netflix’s nostalgic film Wham!, which begins with George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley meeting as 11- and 12-year-olds respectively at school in Hertfordshire and which is packed with rare footage and unheard audio interviews.

‘We’ve got a lot of wow moments in the film, like the early demo tapes for Careless Whisper and some previously unseen footage of their first-ever tour,’ reveals producer Simon Halfon, who was good friends with both Michael and Ridgeley.
