Growing up in Denmark, Peter Schmeichel dreamt of one day playing for Manchester United. Not only did he achieve that, but he became part of one of the club’s greatest teams, winning the treble under Sir Alex Ferguson – not to mention the 1992 Euros as Denmark’s No 1.

Now, over 20 years after hanging up his gloves, the Dane, 61, is looking back on his eventful life and glittering career in the featurelength documentary Schmeichel, which features contributions from Fergie, ex-teammates Eric Cantona and Gary Neville, and Schmeichel’s family – including his goalkeeping son Kasper.
