During April 1993, US authorities conducted a 51-day siege at a compound belonging to the Branch Davidians religious sect, led by self- proclaimed son of God David Koresh.

The stand-off in Waco, Texas, was watched intensely by the world’s media and ended in a deadly, unexplained fire. In all, 86 people were killed, including four federal agents. The Waco siege has gone down in history as one of America’s most controversial tragedies, but almost a third of Koresh’s followers were Brits.
