After co-starring as squabbling convicts in 2021’s comic-book saga The Suicide Squad, Idris Elba and John Cena had been looking for another project on which to work together again. And now they've found the perfect vehicle, as the stars reunite to play bickering world leaders in Prime Video's explosive action-comedy film Heads of State.

‘When I met Idris on The Suicide Squad, we clicked — he’s super-professional and funny, and we complement each other,’ says Cena, 48. ‘I told him I’d love to work together again and Peter Safran [the producer of both films] said he had something for us. Idris and I are such different personalities and Heads of State plays to our strengths.’

‘It was the perfect storm, adds Luther star Elba, 52. John’s playing a funny guy and I'm playing the straight man. It's fun doing that tit for tat we did in The Suicide Squad, but with different characters.’
