There's heartbreak for Roy and Cleo as the Brighton-based crime drama returns

- SEAN MARLAND

Grace under PRESSURE

NEW CRIME DRAMA

Grace

Sunday, 8pm, ITV1 (box set, ITVX)

Det Supt Roy Grace was overjoyed last year when his other half Cleo told him they were going to have a child - but the couple's dreams of starting a family are cruelly snatched away as the hit crime drama returns to ITV1.

The new four-part series begins with Roy (John Simm) and Cleo (Zoë Tapper) struggling to process their grief after losing their baby, while the Brightonbased detective is still reeling from solving the long-running mystery surrounding his missing wife Sandy.

In a shocking finale to the fourth series, Roy tracked Sandy to a hospital in Munich. Tragically, she took her own life, leaving a letter for Roy revealing that she was pregnant when she left him and that they had a son called Bruno.

Now, following her death, the youngster comes to live in England and, in this week's opening episode, Roy takes Bruno to a football r match in Brighton - only for someone to plant an explosive device at the stadium.
