Donald Trump earned the dubious distinction of becoming the first U.S. President convicted of a felony, following an unprecedented Manhattan criminal trial. On May 30 jurors reached a unanimous verdict after a five-week trial, during which more than 20 witnesses provided sworn testimony. The jury ultimately affirmed the prosecution’s argument that Trump falsified 34 business records to conceal a scheme to corrupt the 2016 presidential election.
