A graded artist of All India Radio, Akashvani, Panel Artist of Hindusthan Record music company and regular performer in various Television channels, She is known today as a distinguished exponent of Rabindra Sangeet with a rich repertoire of Bengali songs, Moumita's journey in music has been shaped as much by rigorous classical training as by an inner calling to explore Rabindranath Tagore's timeless ideas of life and art.

Born into a music-loving family, Moumita's love for music began early. As a child, she was introduced to the fundamentals of singing under the guidance of Smt. Kalyani Sen and Sri Sadhan Das, mentors who helped lay the foundation for what would become a deeply immersive musical life. Even then, her inclination towards structure and depth hinted at a future rooted in classical traditions.
