The comedian opens up about sharing love, loss and a lasting bond with the late Bob Saget and their fellow former co-stars

When Full House debuted in 1987, Dave Coulier didn't expect it to be a smash hit. "No one has any idea how successful a show is going to be," says the Michigan-born actor-comedian, who played Uncle Joey for eight seasons in the original version and another five in the Netflix reboot, Fuller House, from 2016 to 2020. But he says he knew he and his castmates cluding Bob Saget, John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Lori Loughlin and Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen shared a special bond. "We had chemistry from the starting gate," says Dave, 62. "We just loved each other and looked out for each other through marriages and divorces and births and deaths and cancellations. We've been through so much together, and we've remained really close." Here, the star of the family friendly Pure Flix series Live+Local talks to In Touch's Katie Bruno about losing Bob (the beloved actor died on Jan. 9), getting sober and his wife of eight years, Melissa Bring.
