Pay less for PET CARE

Most of us agree that pets are important members of our families. But costs can soar if they get sick or injured. At times like this, when many of us are penny pinching, it's important to be aware of all of your options so you can make an informed decision. Here's what you need to know.

STAY UP TO DATE

Along with ensuring that your pet leads a healthy lifestyle, keeping up to date with vaccinations and regular check-ups may help to minimise potential future costs.

"Visit your local vet frequently to ensure that early detection and prevention of any underlying issues are taken care of as quickly as possible," says Petstock (petstock.com.au) vet Dr Tara Morris. "This could be through visiting them in person or utilising an online live chat, such as Petstock's vet chat, which can be a cheaper alternative than physically going to a clinic."

TALK TO YOUR VET

If you're caught off guard by unexpected bills, it's worth talking to your vet. Some may offer plans where you can pay in instalments or offer VetPay, Afterpay, Openpay or Zip Pay, which can help ease the stress of upfront costs.
