It’s been a minute since Andy Samberg got suited up for a comedic music number, but the Saturday Night Live alum, 47, jumped at the opportunity to parody Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” for a new Super Bowl commercial with Hellmann’s.
Samberg led the musical comedy trio The Lonely Island, which launched SNL's Digital Shorts during his 2005-2012 run on the show.
“It was interesting to see myself in a costume that committed again at this age,” he jokes, adding that returning to his Lonely Island roots to portray the “insane, psychotic character” of Meal Diamond — opposite Elle Fanning, no less — was “so fun.” Samberg tells Us more.
