Steven Spielberg, the man who invented the summer blockbuster, is back with another action-packed, heartstring-tugging movie destined to dominate the box office.

Margaret (Blunt) is a meteorologist who mysteriously begins spouting gibberish in the middle of delivering the weather report. Daniel (O'Connor) plays a government cybersecurity expert who realizes he's the only person who can understand her words, which are messages from another planet. It spurs him to expose highly classified intelligence, revealing to the whole world verifiable proof that we are not alone in the universe. But first he'll have to outwit a sinister government official (Firth), who's determined to stop him.

Disclosure Day has all the usual elements of a popcorn flick it's a rollercoaster ride of nonstop action and eye-popping special effects - but is elevated from the usual summer movie fare by Blunt's performance (which is already garnering Oscar talk), and the profound questions it asks about how unlikely it is that we're really alone in the universe.
