For his first holidays on the throne, King Charles III invites Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson to celebrate alongside him
-
Prior to the pandemic, the royals spent every Christmas since 1988 together at the same place: Sandringham. This December, following two years of pared down festivities at Windsor Castle, they'll finally return to the estate in England's Norfolk region but with two very important people missing. Queen Elizabeth II passed away in September, just 18 months after husband Prince Philip's death.
King Charles III is now the head of the monarchy - and he's trying to salvage the family he has left. According to an insider, the 74-year-old's even invited disgraced brother Prince Andrew to celebrate Christmas in the countryside. "It is the season of goodwill and Charles feels it's the right thing to do," says the insider. "Besides, the queen would be turning in her grave if Andrew was blacklisted!"
