When Kate Hudson was a teen, her famous mother, Goldie Hawn, advised the natural blonde not to dye her mane. "But I didn't listen," Kate, 45, recently told InStyle. "I started coloring it at 16 and she was very frustrated because she loved my OG color of my hair. She's like, 'You're never gonna get it back.' And she's right. She was right."

There's a lot of other advice from Goldie that Kate did heed, though - and it's helped make the Running Point actress who she is today. "They have a very special relationship. Kate has modeled her life after Goldie's in so many ways, from her career to her lifestyle choices," shares an insider. "Kate says Goldie always taught her to follow her heart and to believe in herself, even when others doubted her."

Model Couple Kurt and Goldie's more than 40year union is an inspiration for Kate and Danny. "What they have, in terms of connection, is really rare and beautiful and something to strive for," Kate told ET.
