Soccer player Thibaut Courtois and model Mishel Gerzig became Mr. and Mrs. after saying “I do” in an unforgettable wedding celebration on the French Riviera. It was a fairytale affair, complete with a “princess” – who dazzled in three spectacular dresses – and a castle: the breathtaking Château de la Croix des Gardes in Cannes.

Theirs was a wedding full of emotions, putting the finishing touches on a romantic story that flourished thanks to social media.

It all began with a comment the Real Madrid goalkeeper, 31, left on a post that Mishel, 26, made on Instagram. The beautiful blond – who’d been modelling since her teens, pausing only to complete military service that’s required of most Israeli natives – had shared a picture of her dog, Mylo, that caught the attention of the athlete, an unabashed dog lover. “So cute,” wrote Belgium-born Tibo – as his close friends call him – kick-starting his acquaintance with Mishel.
