A GLITTERY NIGHT OF CELEBRATION AND THE AWARD GOES TO...DREAMS COME TRUE AT THE GOLDEN GLOBES

The Golden Globes delivered all the feels as Tinseltown came together for the celebration of excellence on the big and small screen – often a precursor of what’s to come at the Academy Awards.

While there was no shortage of first-time winners at the glitzy affair, returning veterans like screen-legend Emma Stone enjoyed their moment in the spotlight, too.

Wearing a smile as dazzling as her bejewelled gown, Poor Things star Emma had her priorities in order while taking the stage to accept Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy – a prize she also won in 2017 for La La Land.

“Dave, I have to start with you really quickly,” she said, as her husband, writer and director Dave McCary, beamed with pride in the audience. “I love you very much. Thank you for everything!” Moving on to her cast members, Emma then turned her attention to Willem Dafoe, Mark Ruffalo and Ramy Youssef (who reunited onstage with her later to accept Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy). “You made every day an absolute joy,” said the actress, 35, who, despite being prepared with a speech, was actually shocked by the honour.
