With an Academy Award to her name and a leading role in a new prequel to one of the most popular horror film franchises of recent years, Lupita Nyong’o is enjoying a spell in her career that’s far from quiet.

However, the star, who is back on our screens in new blockbuster A Quiet Place: Day One, still likes to take time away from the noise of showbiz.

“I recently moved to Los Angeles from New York, so I get a lot more silence now than I used to. My quiet place is any time I force myself to take a digital break and reconnect with myself, away from my phone or social media,” she says.

“I really find that taking time out, going for a hike and seeking out nature cuts out a lot of mental noise.”

The Kenyan-Mexican actress has recently been spotted embracing the great outdoors alongside her new boyfriend, former Dawson’s Creek star Joshua Jackson, 46, whose wife Jodie Turner-Smith filed for divorce in October 2023.
