DIETERS may be sabotaging their weight loss efforts by swilling low-calorie drinks containing the artificial sweetener sucralose, according to a new study that found the popular sugar substitute can increase appetites.

The bitter news comes from scientists at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine. The researchers discovered that folks who drank water mixed with sucralose reported their appetites rose by nearly 20 percent versus subjects who consumed water with sugar.
