If the husband is the head of the family, what is the wife?

Ah, the age-old proclamation that "the husband is the head of the family." A noble, if slightly outdated, sentiment. In today's world, of course, women seem to be the heads of pretty much everything, families, businesses, governments, and, quite possibly, the WiFi router. But if one insists on anatomical metaphors, let's be precise, and diplomatic. If the husband is indeed the head, then the wife is unquestionably the neck. After all, what good is a head without a neck? It just sort of rolls about, bumping into things and looking rather silly. The neck, on the other hand, quietly decides which way the head shall turn, left, right, or towards the shopping mall. And should the head ever forget its place, the neck has a most effective method of correction: a little twist. So, let's be honest, it's the wife who has the real swivel power.
