Sonakshi Sinha is both an earth goddess and girl-next-door. She chats with Suman Sharma about career, life and relationships

Say what you want about her, but Sonakshi has never been accused of slacking. If she commits, she goes all in, whether it's a film, a relationship, or a career reinvention. She breezes into the room with her trademark sass and sunshine. No nerves, no pretence, just Sonakshi being her unfiltered, fabulous self. She's glowing, yes, but with laughter, not just love. Bring up Zaheer Iqbal and the sparkle in her eyes turns into a full-blown blush. Her marriage did ruffle a few feathers, even within the family, but she's dusted off the drama with grace and good humour. Professionally too, she's on a roll. Nikita Roy gives her a role she can sink her teeth into, and Sonakshi doesn't disappoint. And with her eyes now set on more layered, theekha roles, there's a sense that the best is yet to come. Over to her, as I ask...

Often we don't take our family seriously. So when your elder brother Kussh came to you with Nikita Roy, what was your reaction?

(Laughs) I told Kussh outright, "First give me the script, then I'll answer!" As an actor, I'm clear about the kind of work I want to do. He was extremely professional when he told me he wanted to narrate a film to me, which he wanted to direct. He brought me the script and I read it. Funnily, I had come across the same script years ago through someone else, but then it just disappeared. But, I couldn't forget it. When I told Kush this, he worked on it further and developed it. That's how the film came to be.

Did you have any creative differences on the set?
