Beauty and the Best
Filmfare
|August 2025
There's more to Harnaaz Sandhu than her beauty queen credentials. Vedanshi Pathak speaks to the scintillating actress about how the Miss Universe title changed her life, her favourite directors, and collaborating with Sajid Nadiadwala in Baaghi 4.
Raised in Chandigarh.
Harnaaz Sandhu is the third Indian to win the Miss Universe crown after Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta. Beyond pageantry, this Chandigarh lass has championed women's health and education, advancing menstrual equity initiatives and speaking on constitutional rights for women. She has also been associated with philanthropic campaigns, including advocacy work highlighted during and after her reign. Now transitioning to screen roles. Sandhu is positioning herself as a performer with purpose, marrying a high-profile debut with a platform built on empowerment. She's now padded up for her big-ticket debut in Sajid Nadiadwala's Baaghi 4. Excerpts from an interview with the charismatic star
YOU'RE ALL SET TO STAR IN BAAGHI 4. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A PART OF THIS FRANCHISE?
Debuting in Hindi cinema with a film like Baaghi 4 feels like a huge honour and responsibility. The Baaghi franchise has become synonymous with grit, adrenaline, and emotional rebellion, and now I get to contribute to that legacy. That in itself is a blessing. I've already received so much love from audiences across the world as Miss Universe, and this debut is my way of deepening that bond by showing a new side of who I am and what I'm capable of.
