REVIVAL ROOTED IN RESONANCE
MARWAR India
|July - August 2025
Musician, healer and heritage revivalist, Dr. Shruti Nada Poddar was drawn from Belfast to her ancestral haveli in Ramgarh, where she transformed forgotten heritage into a vibrant space for healing, learning and cultural resurgence.
Dr. Shruti Nada Poddar is a mentor, musician, and vibrational healer. A heritage conservationist and grassroots entrepreneur in tourism and hospitality, as well as a poet, educationist and faculty trainer, Poddar is a practitioner and teacher of the Upanishads, Sri Vidya, and other ancient Vedic wisdom and indigenous knowledge systems.
A global consultant on culture, heritage conservation and the application of indigenous knowledge systems in education and well-being, she also organises events, festivals and cross-cultural collaborations across India and internationally.
Early influences and the birth of a foundation
Drawn to India’s music, chants, mysticism, and cultural richness since childhood, Poddar naturally evolved into a teacher of Indian knowledge systems. By the time she had spent over a decade as a Vedic researcher, practitioner, and healer, some of her family members suggested she channel her work into a more formalised structure.
This led to the genesis of the Global Indic Foundation in 2006. It was born from a vision to revive Indic systems for the well-being of India and the world. Six months later, the trust was renamed Shruti Foundation.
Strengthening lives through indigenous wisdom
Like a curious, playful and committed explorer, the foundation has continued to uncover and disseminate the gems of Indic knowledge, driven by its core mission to empower individuals through local wisdom and holistic practices.
“The foundation over time has empowered more than 50,000 teachers with integral ways of education and has offered numerous courses and workshops on the Vedas, Upanishads, indigenous technologies, arts and crafts, cultural stories, and their application in modern life,” said Poddar.
