Brother-sister duo Karan Raj and Priyamwada Aggarwal are not just partners in crime but also the bedrock of their pizza oven business. On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, we get the siblings and founders of Pizza Pro, a pizza oven company in New Delhi, to share how they work and bond as a team.

Pizza is not just food, it is an emotion, a comfort. The rich, creamy, cheese-pull pizza is every foodie's delight. Delhi-based siblings Karan and Priyamwada Aggarwal spotted a business opportunity in spreading the pizza joy and making authentic pizzas in the comfort of one's home. They founded Pizza Pro, a company that meets the demand for affordable, chic and portable wood and gas-fired pizza ovens that give "restaurant-like pizzas at home".

Venturing out as a team

The siblings have been cooking Neapolitan-style pizzas together since years using their own Ooni pizza oven, which they initially imported for personal use. "Sunday brunches had never been more fun and soon became a staple weekend activity, with our friends and family coming over to make and enjoy great pizza in our backyard. During one of our sunny Sunday brunch conversations over hot Neapolitan Margherita pizza and ice-cold beers, we decided to take Ooni oven out of our home and introduce it to India and its wide audience of foodies, with the desire to create a passionate community of aspiring home pizza chefs," mentions Karan. The goal was to provide aspiring pizzaiolos everything they needed to begin their pizza journey.
