The rise of sustainable mobility in hotels
Hotelier India
|September 2022
Most hotels are now targeting to change their fleet to electric vehicles. Sustainable mobility in hotels has now been trending more than ever; Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India, talks about how the company has undertaken the initiative to highlight the importance of EVs in the hospitality sector
-
What are your thoughts on the hotels being equipped to replace their existing fleet with EVS?
Premium hotels follow extremely high standards of hospitality, luxury and comfort. Travelling in a premium hotel's car fleet should be a treat for the senses. And that experience can begin much before the check-in itself, right from the time the guest is picked up in a luxury car. Today, great hospitality and sustainability go hand-in-hand.
Mobility is undergoing a great transformation around the globe and this transformation is evident here in India as well. The steps that the Indian hotel industry is taking to move along with it are truly commendable. The Indian hotel chains are among the fast adaptors of electric mobility and new technology. We can clearly see the proactivity to move towards sustainable green mobility. The hotels are fully equipped to undertake the change and increase their contribution towards the environment. Many hotels have already begun incorporating electric vehicles into the guest fleet. Adopting electric mobility is quite an easy and smooth process and doesn't mean compromising on anything, whether it is the type of car, or its performance or features.
