Sequestered in the quiet reaches of Lote Parshuram, in Ratnagiri’s industrial hinterland, a young chemist, working in his uncle's pharma company, was poised to change the landscape of Maharashtra’s pharma industry.

Unimaginable too, at the time, was how he would give a fresh direction to India's bulk drug industry. In later years its ripples would reverberate across global markets.

Dr. Satish Wagh, that young man's entrepreneurial spirit, voiced in his experimentations in the specialised field of antihistamine APIs, was to create a global empire with Supriya Lifescience, as the world's largest manufacturer of Antihistamines, Anti-allergic, Vitamins and the Anaesthetics range.

It was in 1987 that Dr Satish Wagh translated his simple, disciplined conviction that Indian chemistry, practiced with ethical rigour and world-class quality standards, could serve the entire world. And it was Supriya Lifescience, the venture that he boldly set out to establish on his own, which became the vehicle of this firmly held belief.
