John Coogan and Jordi Hays, cohosts of TBPN (Technology Business Programming Network)—a daily talk show devoted to the business of technology—wake up and look at what's trending on X. And then, they gab.

“We cover something like 50 to 100 [topics], rapid-fire,” says Hays. Five days a week, in bespoke suits, the duo riff on the news for three uninterrupted hours, accompanied by a revolving cast of venture investors, startup founders, and the occasional single-name elite, like “Zuck.” On good days, the livestream (available on X, YouTube, and TBPN.com) draws more than 130,000 simultaneous viewers; millions more watch the highlighted clips and listen to the podcast.

“We basically leverage the algorithms,” Hays says of TBPN’s programming strategy. “Love them or hate them, they do a really good job of sorting what people are interested in.”

Podcasts devoted to business and technology are legion, but none mine Silicon Valley's digital spaces with as much speed and attention. In the show’s early days, the jauntily coiffed Hays and 6-foot-8 Coogan would print out X posts and read them aloud. Both were startup founders themselves (Coogan cofounded Soylent and nicotine pouch brand Lucy; Hays founded funding tool Party Round), and they reasoned that the person behind the post would share the moment and, in the process, expand
