Australia welcomes US beef after dropping trade restrictions

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry in Australia recently announced that it would lift trade barriers on beef from the US, France24 reported.
This followed US President Donald Trump singling out Australia during the “Liberation Day” tariff announcement in April, during which he accused the country of banning beef from the US while benefitting from exports to the US.
France24 reported that due to Australia’s stringent biosecurity measures, meat from cattle slaughtered in the US, but born in Mexico or Canada, had been banned from the country.
