The fireside chat "India 2047-Next 25 years of the ICT industry" featured Sanjeev Bikhchandani, Founder and Executive Vice Chairman, Info Edge, and CP Gurnani, CEO and MD, Tech Mahindra. It was moderated by Sunil Rajguru, Editor, Dataquest & PCQuest.

BIGGEST CONTRIBUTION WILL COME FROM THE DIGITAL STARTUP ECOSYSTEM

Rajguru said that India's biggest success story has been IT services. We have now become IT consultants. Gurnani said that there is no need to create a class between services and consultants. IT sector has created $250 billion exports. IT services sector has benefitted by focusing on B2B, being relevant, and being ahead of the game. The Indian IT is well equipped, and we are very confident. Emirates is the world's largest airline. It is also into services.

Bikhchandani stated that almost everyone in the Indian IT industry is super smart. At NASSCOM, McKenzie had come to present. They had raised a query. In response, human capital in the Indian IT industry has made the success possible.

He said there is large, local market available in India. Payoffs are larger over time. Companies will get built out of India, for India. You cannot build ChatGPT with that kind of money. We do not have the requisite engineers right now. If we can get capital, they will come. India has data, and intelligence.
