Ajay Ashar, CMD, Ashar Group, is known for his meticulous approach and commitment towards his projects that help him stand out among peers in the competitive real estate market
One cannot speak of Thane or MMR without mentioning Ashar Group. Some of the most prominent landmarks in this area were brought about by this 23-year-old company who foresaw Thane becoming a central hub. Around 2000, Thane, mainly known for its lakes, was not vibrant enough for people to consider it as 'happening'. Middle-class citizens were content living there, enjoying the serenity of a peaceful life. Fast forward 10 years, and many long-time residents of Thane might not recognise its once-familiar roads. The city's landscape has expanded significantly, incorporating new areas to accommodate the growing population.
Since establishing Ashar Group in 2001, chairman and managing director Ajay Ashar has been instrumental in the development of Thane, particularly the projected expansion of the MMR. "You don't just build structures; you build a reputation" is a motto he has adhered to stoutly. In his words, "Buyers should love the fact that they are staying in one of our properties and look forward to coming home every day. Hence, location plays a crucial role in deciding the kind of development."
