Bisinfotech
|June 2025
Rockwell Automation is a global leader in industrial automation and digital transformation, driving innovation in smart manufacturing and semiconductor technologies.
-

With major R&D hubs in India, the company develops advanced solutions across chip design, embedded systems, and industrial software. Its Chennai facility will boost local semiconductor manufacturing, while programs like 'Digital Skills for Industry' and AI-powered learning platforms ensure a tech-ready workforce.
During the interview, Nikita Kumari had the opportunity to engage with Mr. Abhishek Misra.
Head Human Resources - India, Rockwell Automation. The conversation covered a wide range of insightful topics, from semiconductor manufacturing, and advanced packaging to the employee development strategy for semiconductor-related roles. Here's a glimpse into that engaging and informative discussion.
India is projected to face a semiconductor skill gap of 300,000 professionals by 2027. How is Rockwell Automation strategically addressing this challenge to build a future-ready workforce?
Rockwell Automation is proactively addressing it with a multi-pronged strategy focused on attracting, developing, and retaining specialised talent.
Through a collaboration with Cisco, Rockwell Automation launched the ‘Digital Skills for Industry’ programme, integrating IT and OT curricula across key areas such as cybersecurity, IoT, AI, programming, and automation technologies. Leveraging Cisco's Networking Academy (NetAcad), which has already trained over 2.2 million students in India, this initiative aims to strengthen digital literacy, enhance workforce productivity and bolster the global competitiveness of India's manufacturing sector.
In parallel, Rockwell Automation empowers its employees through the Workday Learn platform, enabling flexible upskilling and reskilling in emerging fields like AI, machine learning, and semiconductor manufacturing, ensuring a future-ready workforce.
