ASHOK KUMAR, IPS (Retd), Former DGP Uttarakhand, and presently Vice Chancellor, Sports University of Haryana, Rai, Sonipat, describes his learnings at IIT Delhi
HAILING from the rural background of Haryana, and with prowess in mathematics, Ashok Kumar was preparing for REC Kurukshetra. “I had never heard of IIT back then. But while preparing for that during 11th -12th, I came to know that IITs are the best engineering colleges of the country. Some of my peers were preparing for IIT entrance; and I also started preparing, and cracked the entrance.” He did Mechanical Engineering and completed his BTech in 1986 and MTech in 1988, before joining IPS in 1989.
