Franck Cammas has announced his ambition to return to solo offshore racing with plans to compete in the 2028 Vendée Globe and 2027 Ocean Race in a latest version IMOCA. His newly formed team, Sailing Generation, also includes three Olympic sailors and aims to compete in the blue riband offshore events together with the LA 2028 Games.

Craig Wood, a British army veteran who lost both legs and his left arm while serving in Afghanistan, is aiming to become the first triple amputee to sail solo across the Pacific.
Wood learned to sail as a child and became a keen windsurfer in his teens. After school he joined the British Army as a rifleman, but was severely injured by a roadside bomb in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, aged 18 in 2009. Sailing became a key part of his recovery.
“My dad got me in touch with the Paralympic development coach when I was still in hospital, and quickly after I was down in Weymouth testing. Being in that Paralympic world opened my eyes up to what is possible. And so sailing was possible for me,” he recalls.
