YOT'S CRUISING CAT

French multihull specialist Catana is launching its largest motorcat yet. The new Yot 53 will become the flagship of the two-year-old Yot brand when it hits the water next summer.

Whereas the smaller Yot 36 and Yot 41 are sporty outboard-engined weekenders, the new 53 is a cruising oriented motor yacht with inboard diesel engines, a fully enclosed saloon and a Cat A RCD rating for offshore use.

As with its Bali range of sailing cats, the saloon features an unusual tilting aft bulkhead that slides up and over like a garage door to leave a full width opening out into the cockpit. Wraparound seating in the cockpit makes the most of this seamless connection to create a huge combined indoor/outdoor socialising space. The galley is forward to port, opposite an indoor helm station.
